So, what’s the plan for Saturday?
Most of us have a set routine: breakfast, chores, errands, take the kids somewhere, and then more chores. I have added a new and much loved destination to my “must do” list for Saturday mornings and am so glad to have discovered this gem in downtown Lakeland. I’m talking about the Farmers Market.
They set up every Saturday morning from 8 am to 2 pm on Kentucky Ave. just north of the railroad tracks. This is an amazing assembly of local artists and entrepreneurs. You’ll find produce (including organic), many craftsmen, fish monger, landscape plants, pet needs, coffee and tea purveyors, local honey, jams and jellies, jewelry makers, fresh baked bread and pastries, musicians, food prepared to order, kombucha, clothing, home accessories, and so much more.
Of course the local brick-and-mortar stores are also open early and provide many unique shopping experiences. Bring the kids. Bring the dogs. Bring a smile and be prepared to make this your new Saturday habit!
